seibon lip install tips?
Well my seibon lip arrived yesterday and it looks pretty sweet, but i didn't realize that the holes in it aren't pre-drilled to bolt it to the front bumper. Can someone who has installed one of these enlighten me in some ways to put it on there? I found a thread that says to use 2 sided tape, but I don't think i want to chance just using that. I don't have a problem drilling carbon fiber on a hood, but there isn't much to drill on the lip and i don't wanna crack it, especially having to drill maybe like a dozen holes. Can someone shoot me a few pointers on how they did it or give me some insight? Thanks in advance
It isn't pre-drilled? WTF!!
I can't believe there are so many products that aren't remove and replace.
Anyway, good luck with the install. Post pics when it is done.

No i was pretty pissed when i got it and there were no mounting holes. For 265 bucks you'd think they could drill the holes or else mold them in when the lip was made.

Thats a good idea. Ill try that out. I wish there was some type of clip that worked kinda like vise grips to just clip it to the bumper and keep it there along with some 3m tape, but i cant think of any other way than drilling it.

My car was missing the oem lip when i got it and i also replaced the front bumper.

I highly suggest this:
Apply the lip using 2 sided tape. Then from the inside of the bumper where the mounting bolt holes for the stock lip are, make marks on the new lip as a guide for drilling. Doing it this way will insure that the lip will be evenly installed.
Then take the lip off and drill away. I would also put tape on both sides of the lip, as stated above, so that you don't screw up the lip.
Measure twice, drill once.

i got it from a user on ebay. He had an auction for 50 of them and i threw him a best offer. He took 265 and told me that was as low as he would go anyway. I still had to pay shipping but oh well.

i know a guy that has his lip "2 sided" taped on. no holes , just tape. you cant see any tape and its basicly glued on, most likely a job to take off. I have tape on my lip also but only in the "air dam" area. i have 1 screw on each side. I've had it this way for about a year now and, its never came off. good luck.
btw: my lip is not carbon fiber. but the tape-junkie's lip is.

Well I got the lip installed today and surprisingly the carbon fiber is pretty tough and allows for some flexing and it was easy to drill with no problems. Heres a pic:

i don't know if you already did this or not but where you drilled the holes you may want to but clear nail polish or something similar to help seal the carbon fiber back up. otherwise water will start to find its way in and start yellowing the carbon fiber.
No its a JSP hood. It doesn't fit too bad but it could be better. I had a lot of messing with it to get it to line up the way i wanted it. That was the best i could get it.
