Default Valvetrain question!

Ok i have a b16 in my si and im getting ready to put in the rm vavlespring and retainers I just bought! I know I need to set the motor to TDC. If I lift the cams on the distributor so I can slide the cam gears off the belt, would I still need to tension the belt after? Im not comfortable about doing that, I pretty sure that I can but I dont want to if I dont have to. So any help would be appricated!!!
Thanks Guys!!

You probably should consider paying someone else for the install, you don't sound too comfortable with doing it yourself. If you go buy yourself a cheap manual, it will give you the steps in removing the cams, installing the springs and timing the cams once again during install. Tensioning the belt is probably the easiest of the things you need to do, lol.

Honestly, if you cant set TDC on your engine you wont be able to install valve springs...leave it to a knowledgeble person...you could easily drop a valve into the cylinder when removeing keepers on a spring if you dont know what your doing..

actually i can set my car to TDC. im talking about setting the tension. i have adjusted my valves but i never took my belt off so i didnt need to tension it i just rotated it. im not worried about taking the belt on and off, it is tensioning the belt after i put it back on.
