Bent timing plates
First time replacing a head gasket(1996 Accord EX VTEC) and I managed to bend all 4 timing plates, I think because I originally put the camshaft back in 90 degrees off. After you tell me how stupid I am, can you tell me how screwed I am? Do you agree with my theory of what caused it? If not, what do you think made the timing plates bend? I discovered the damage just now when checking the valve clearances. The engine sounded like a diesel when I cranked it up.

I cant really picture how having the cam timing off would damage them. Dont have anything else to add, never seen or heard of them getting bent.
