alright i got new everything possible for my rear drums about 2 months ago, drums, shoes, springs...almost every 2 weeks they start comin out of adjustment becuz i can feel it in my pedal and i have to lift my ebrake up higher to engage....why the hell wont they stay put? is there some kinda missing part i dont have or something? GAHHHH

 

Did you adjust the rear brakes?

Sounds like time for a rear disc swap.

 

how do u adjust the rear brakes? are you talking about the gear on the clevis? if so how many turns does it get backed out from fully tight? my rear drums are shitty also

 

yes i adjusted em...its easy to adjust...jus turn the gear thingy until it takes some effort to get the drum back on...and then with the drum all the way on...it should be kinda hard to spin like the wheel was on....if i knew where to get a rear brake swap at for cheap id gladly do becuz i plan on having this car for awhile

 

mine are doing the same theres suposed to be a clip on the adjuster which stops it from backing off..im getting ready to redu mine this weekend..and your suposed to ajust the shoes with the drum on theres a small hole on the back which u stick a flat head screw driver back there and u'll feel it grab and then start pulling up till the drum is some what tight

yeah, the clip can easily get bent on removal/install and won't stay engaged to keep the gear from backing up.

 

Part 29/35 on the right lower area of that pic. The wheel should spin one way but not the other.
