Default TRANSMISSION QUESTION

ok like everytime i shift into 3rd at about 4 or 4500 quickly it grinds and thats everytime not jus once and awhile and if i shift slowly it dont im not thrashing on it or anything i just wanna know what it could be thanks for all help

Your clutch isn't releasing completely (assuming it's a Standard Trans (you never said)), and isn't allowing a complete disconnect from the flywheel. Check the hydralic clutch release mechanism for fluid and possibly think along the lines of bleeding the system.

You may have a worn third gear set if it is isolated to only third gear. Its a common problem that we see a lot here. Also as P_Adams said...check your clutch line and fluid levels....its a lot easier to rule out the small stuff before removing your transmission and disassembling.

Yup, worn Syncro rings/slide collar and/or shift fork could do it. (complete trans overhaul; here we come!)
But check the clutch first (theres' been a few "Funky clutch complaints in here of late)
