just driving the car now makes it the needle go all the way to the top literally.
i'm affaird if we drive it it'll blow up so i need help colant levels low?
or something do i need to replance anything if so how do i know what to replance.
tell me what to check and what to get please help thank you.

Coolant lever (both overflow tank AND Radiator)
Coolant fan Operation
Circulation thru radiator

check for leaks too.

 

eeeek dont let it overheat and blow the head

find the problem before you drive it again

 

check for radiator deterioration

 

the most common thing people forget to look at (and the first thing I would look at) is the radiator cap.........people dont realize how important that cap is to the cooling system......ive seen people come into the shop (friends shop) and replace everydamn thing..........long story short it was the cap.............In Fact today im going to get a new cap I have the same prob......hooked up a pressure tester and yep CAP is the prob..........if you dont have a pressure tester or someone that does look at your cap and sealing surface make sure the gaskets arnt cracked and are still there.........no dirt and corrision.......etc

Turn on the a/c and verify that both cooling fans are running. If they are, check that thermostat and verify flow through the system like P_ADAMS said. It's not hot enough outside right now for a bad cap to cause the problem. You either have no air flow or no water flow.

he lives in flordia... you live in tenesse...um TN

 

I know how hot it is in FL, and unless it's above 95 degrees outside, I wouldn't waste my time looking at the cap. By the way, it was 89 yesterday and will be 91 or 92 today right here in TN. I thought this was October.
