Default OBD gurus: JDM OBD2B ECU + JDM OBD2B Motor + USDM OBD2A 5th Gen Shell = ...?

Is it possible to swap in a Euro R motor/tranny/ECU (OBD2B) into my 5th gen USDM Prelude (OBD2A)? My thinking is that using the Euro R ECU should eliminate the problem of the IACV & other incompatibilities as well as allow use of Honda's stock Euro R maps. Will a conversion harness make this possible? Like the following...

Thanks in advance

Thanks, but will it work as described? Euro R + ECU into a USDM 5th gen with the help of a conversion harness with no other compatibility issues?

Trust me, bro, I have searched and searched and searched... I have searched and researched extensively; I'm now looking for confirmation by asking you guys directly.

Steve at HMO believes that the Euro R ECU does not come equipped with an immobilizer.

My goal is to completely sidestep the 3-wire IACV issue and other known incompatibilities by using the stock Euro R OBD2B ECU. Will this work?

well the problem you are going to run into is that you need to run the harness from your engine. the euro comes out on the wrong side of the engine bay. and then your in the situation where the 3 wire iac comes into play. So are you really gaining anything? then you can just wire striaght to the ecu if you dont want to convert. the iac to use the harness.

Thanks for the responses, guys; now we're getting somewhere

How do you solve the problem of having the engine harness coming out of the other side of the bay?

my friend and his jdm b16 had this problem. had to customize the harness by adding some wire here, removing some there. but he's really good with swap and all that. sorry i don't know anything about euro-r's or your obd question though.

ur not gonna plug in an obd2b ecu into obd2a plugs without extensive rewireing of the plugs, and getting the extra plug you need because the 2a and 2b dont both use the same 3 plugs
