Carbon: 0.15 - 0.20%

Manganese: 0.60 - 0.90%

Phosphorus: max. 0.04%

Sulfer: max. 0.05%

And the rest is iron. AKA "low carbon" or "mild" steel.

What system do you use? I can cross-reference it in my little Materials handbook.

If you use DIN, the material number I get is DIN 1.1157

Specific properties:

0.36-0.44 C, 0.80-1.10 Mn, 0.04 P, 0.04 S, 0.25-0.50 SI, base Fe

From the same book, AISI 1080 properties:

.750 to 0.880% C, 0.600 to 0.900% Mn, 0.040% P max, 0.050% S max

So the DIN metal is a little lower in carbon, but the other alloying agents are the same.
