How do you clean HID bulbs?

How do you clean HID bulbs?
i just installed my HID's and the light is all scattered. i think my bulbs may be dirty. is there a way i can clean it w/o messing the bulb up? i heard using rubbing alcohol?

sometimes the light is scattered since the gas is igniting. Also the plastic of your headlight can be throwing out an imperfect pattern.....did you look at the bulb when you installed?

imma try this later today.....so just use a little alcohol on the q-tips? don't dip the whole q-tip in the rubbing alcohol. that's what i usually do. hehehe well i have a 99-00 civic so i don't know how diff the light pattern is. why did my other hyper bulbs look more projected than scattered? but i have no complaints w/ the brightness of these hid's...there's no comparison.....it's just scattered.
