Default more bugs with the 90-91 accord ex

the automatic seat belts dont work. the power locks dont work. and the defrosting system is poor. the rear works fine, but the front is horrible. DANGEROUSLY horrible. i'd have to have it on full blast for along time until it slowly takes away the fog. im sure something is wrong with that. any ideas?

Seat belts not working: you should talk to the dealer for a free replacement possible analysis.

Power locks: I would look at the relays and fuses.

Defrosting: Check your heater core, could be that your fan isn't functioning properly.

yeah i read about the belts and somewhere here on HT it said they're free. service is free, but where? and this is an old car, maybe her warranty or what not is expired?

more details on the defrosting please? i believe its a big problem now since my girl needs it for work/school and winter is coming.

Well I am almost 100% sure that something like the seatbelts are covered no matter what. Call your dealer or honda of america and get the full details.

Heater core is basically behind your dash and its a pain. Maybe others can chime in with other possible fixes.

You can turn on the a/c as that usually helps out a lot with defrosting. Does the fan blow hard still?

a/c + heat will defrost your windows like magic. It is also useful in the rain .

press the AC on then bump the heat? that seems weird to use your AC,but run heat. is that the correct way to defrost?

Works for me. Since a/c removes moisture and 'conditions' the air it is very useful in high fog situations. You don't have to run the a/c all the time but initially it speeds things up.

if the seat belts are still cover under warranty then I got screwd a few of years ago. B/C I paid about 250 dollars to get mine fixed. (This was before I know any thing about how to work on cars)

ok another thang.

after driving home from work my girl parked the car and hears a 'clinking' noise from beneath the car. she said it was pretty consistant at first, but slowed down. shes worried its something with the exhaust system since we just got it repaired. also she claims its closer towards the front end.

any other possibilies?

yup...drive the car in tight circles at very slow speed...if you hear a click with every revolution, then your CV joints are bad

About the A/C and the defrost... Yes, Air conditioning does exactly that... conditions the air. In MANY modern cars if you hit the defrost button, it automatically kicks on the A/C.

It could be that too.

that is the exhaust system, catalyst and engine returning to cooler temperatures, ALL cars do it.

ok. the A/C + Heat = not defrosting for me.

i tried it out and it worked, but it was working on a day that seemed not to heavy. on a heavier day of rain it DID nothing, but have me sweat to death for 1hr 45mins.

so what do i need to check out?

Is the air actually coming out by the windshield? If the air is coming out of the defrost vents. The a/c must not be working.
