Default THIS WEEKEND"S FAB

This took a long time to make correctly. Me and my buddy spent some time to make this true "merge collector" not some junker collector like every one else makes. I can make these for other people if you want, but it will cost a decent amount but will make the difference in your manifold. This is 304 stainless scheg 10 1 1/2 pipe size.

send me an email if you would like on... i will get a price later if anyone is intrested.
Andrew_burchett@mail.msj.edu
thanks

yeah dude, you came off pretty cocky. A cocky attitude will kill the product pretty quick even if the quality is high, which it it isn't in this case.
The design is great, but you could improve on your weld, and maybe your picture taking skills.

A mig will weld this fine, just need a little more practice.

And your fab work is awesome, very very nice collector.

I'm curious how you would now go about welding the header runners to this collector?

Looks like the inlet pipes are pretty darn close together, I'm thought of building myself a merge collector and this one looks great but never understood how I would weld that onto the runners..

just a question but how is this collector better than the ones you pointed out as being bad? it looks like you just bent the pipe, the collector outlet appears to be the same size, so how is this different or better?

thanks!

Meh, If one was going to be so critical about a merge collector why not just skip right to the burns stainless ones.. why put that much effort into a 'pipe' manifolds collector? Why spend a 'decent amount of money' on a collector that's migged together by an amature welder?

The only way I'd see this as worth anything is if you did it yourself just for fun.

Also, lets see how your true merge collector fits the flange.. since it's not a junker like everyone else makes.

My constructive criticism:

The welding is terrible. My welding is by no means professional but I am also not touting my products as being superior to everyone else's. That thing will crack after a couple heat cycles.

Also, about the design. How is anybody going to attach this to a manifold? There isn't room to weld on the interior of the pipe where the collector comes together.

Would I pay anything for this collector? Personally, no.

I used a mandral bender to bend the pipes. If you bend them the collector becomes a merge collector and will flow better because you wont have a giant pocket of turbulence where the pipes meet. I really dont care if i sell any. I was just trying to help some people out because a collector is hard to make. Ill post up the new one when i get it finished. Im sorry i came off cocky.
