Default My cousin's eclipse GS intake sounds so much deeper..

For awhile now.. whenever i see my cousins 97 Eclipse GS ( non turbo model) i get so envious of the sound of his short ram intake.

He has an AEM short ram intake with an K&N cone filter... when he revs his car it makes the deepest most intimidating sound...I also got a AEM short ram intake to try to match the tone.. but its not anywhere NEAR as close as his car...

ive also heard my friend's sister's 5th gen prelude and her short ram sounds nothing like my cousins either...so its not just my 5th gen...

anyone know why??? mass air flow sensor?? DSM > ??

I've had a short ram and cai setup and I thought the CAI sounded much deeper, probably because the fender area lets the sound resonate better - almost like a speaker box. But everyone else is right, he's still driving a girl car

His sounds better than you car? Are you serious?.........thats weird........

Although I have an AEM Cai - the ****** car roars. Along with my EVO exhaust - sounds damn mean.

It doesn't matter though - he wouldn't stand a chance against you - no matter how hard he tried.

Freakin DSMs

cold air sound is nice

if you have both and exhaust and intake you will most likely not be able to hear the intake that well...i have a cold air before my 3" exhaust and that thing was LOUD....now i cant hear it lol...

The EVO exhaust isn't meant to be loud though. It can get there - but its more of a deep roaring sound - so lovely.

WHen i have the hood popped - and i'm messing with the throttle, people think my engines about to explode.........

My guy Vose(with the STi in the sig) swears it is.............

thats because if he were to do the same all he would hear is the turbo spool...

bah! why is this stupid thread in the prelude tech forum.

first off who cares its an eclipse

second of all sound depends on lengths of runners, intake tube, diameter, stroke, bore, valve curtian area, and a **** ton more crap that im not going to list

im sure that your car does not have all the identical parameters as the eclipse your BOY has.

have your sister sit in the car when you drive, with a bullhorn going

"WOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH----WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAH"

That should intimidate all the DSM owners out there.
