Stereo CD player problems on 99'
Soooooooo I recently purchased an original owner, non smoker, 43000 mile 99 milano red prelude. Everything checked out BUT I was a moron and didn't try out the cd player before purchasing the car. Not like it would have in any way shape or form swayed my purchase of the car but its not fun to have a problem like this right off the bat.
The cd player will not play CDs at all. Takes them...makes a chugging noise as if its trying to read the CD. Says E-00 then spits the cds out. Tried to get a cleaner CD but alas...spits that out as well. Disconnected the battery, re punched in the stereo code. Still gives me the error message. Is there anything else I can do to try to fix the player or is it screwed?
I'm not a fan of flashy aftermarket units and judging from the quality of the sound system just playing whats on the radio I know I'm happy enough with the stock system. I don't want to purchase an aftermarket. Has anyone had any experiance with fixing the stock unit or has bought a used stock unit? Thanks in advance for any help anyone gives. I want to keep this car as stock as possible for awhile so I'd like to keep buying an aftermarket cd player out of the equation for now.

Try taking it apart and cleaning it with come compressed air. If that dosent work you can get a used OEM cd player for about $50.
