TEMP gauge and fanS not working NEED HELP FAST
hey there guys just finshed a LS/VTEC motor runs great but the temp gauge is not working i think it maybe the sensor on the rear of the block ( about 1 1/4" across its brass with two prongs sticking out of it with green center ) its from the 91 LS interga WHAT is that? Does it need to be hooked up? And will it afectt the cooling fan from coming on? only reason is not hooked up is we used a 98 LS block with 20000 miles to do the LS/VTEC so there is no place to put it.
GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP ON THIS ONE !!!! the teg has to be at a car show this weekend `

its not the sensors in the head it the one on the back of the block beside the knock sensor on the older LS and B16 block it has two brass pins i guess you could call them surounded with a green epoxy its about a 21mm socket to remove it what is that sensor
i know about the temp sensor in the head that hooked up fine but what sensor is the one at the rear of the block in the 1gen B16 motor and the 90 LS motors thanks for your help
on newer motors the temp sensor for the cluster is located on the side of the head.
The thermo switch that controls the fans is on the thermostat housing.

ok if i had to can i use the thermostat housing out of a newer motor and thermo switch out of a newer OBD motor and wire it up to the thermo switch thanks again
the sensor on the head is the TW (ECT) for the ECU - the switch in the back of the block is the same (just bigger) as the sensor in the tstat housing on newer models. The TW and thermoswitch (newer models- tstat housing) have the same style connector but are not interchangeable.
