tranny problems on my 2000 Integra GSR.. please help!
first off, I don’t know much about cars, but I try. I just got a great deal on 2000 Integra GSR with 60k miles and the tranny has two problems:
1. the car's (clutch?) grinds when I shift to 4th at 4500+ rpms. I can make it not grind by shifting gently, but when I try to force it in quick it grinds. ONLY 4TH GEAR DOES THIS! The clutch doesn’t slip or pop out of gear. Would a new clutch kit (say Exedy stage 1) fix this problem?
2. the clutch pedal starts feeling harder and rougher after pushed in 60-70%. It sounds like it squeaks a little but its very hard to hear.. much easier to feel. It’s almost like it has a second level. I was told it's probably the 'pressure plate'.. what do you guys think?
thanks in advance
