Installing new hood cable

Installing new hood cable
For those who have changed out their hood cable, was it hard?
I'm doing it on a 93 Civic hatchback. From what I understand I should remove the kick panel, dead petal, side skirt, front bumper and driver side fender.
Will this make it a lot easier to route the cable and install it?
