i have a 94 hatch cx. it pass smog right now. if i swap a d16a, can it pass smog comparing to the d16z6. thanks.

 

i am not up on cali laws, but putting an older engine in a new er car isnt legal. if i remember.

 

well i'm in cali where its so strict now. you have to pass a smog every 2 years and most jdm motors i've herd over here can't pass smog test. so i'm just wondering. anybody know?

 

D16A from a 90 SI? Why would you want to do that over your z6?

Either way, if thats right motor then you wont pass if they do visual.

 

isn't d16a from the 92-95 civic in japan?? i could be wrong, if i am what is the motor from the 92-95 civic from japan. thanks.

D16A, my friend had it. he said its off the 92-95 si from japan. its same as the usdm D16Z6 from the si over here. but i dont know if the D16A is the japan 92-95 si

I have a del sol and swapped in a b16a. I had to smog illegally. u can get it done for about $200-300.

yes it would pass. I just got my D16a ref in my crx. you just have to get it ref and get a bar sticker. passing the emission as a z6. everything needs to be hooked up as a z6. Isnt too hard.
