oil pump inside, will this casting slag cause troubles?
hey-
a while back I spun a rod bearing so I got a new oil pump. I replaced my rods but didnt do my mains, and I just got done doing my mains. Is it ok to reuse the oil pump? It had ~1000 miles on it.
Also - I noticed this when I was inspecting it:

There seems to be some slag or somethin left from the cast. Is it a wise idea to open the pump up, grind it down with a dremel and clean it out real good, then reassemble it?
Thanks!
edit - DOH forgot picture
