Default why does the tachometers on the accords move so fast when the transmission shifts

i have noticed when the transmission shifts on the accords the tachometers make a sharp fast movement to a new rpm reading. is it because of the design of the tachometer, or the signal unit. i think it is very cool because a lot of others cars tachometers don't move as quickly. i wonder if honda designed it that way for a reason.

bc when you shift gears, an up shift makes your rpms go down, and a down shift makes your rpms go up

please, its only CoMMoN SeNSe

i am talking about the way the tachometer responds. look at how other tachometers on other cars responds and look at the accords you will see a difference.

It has to do with dampening of the gauge movement (which is incorporated in other gauges as well), not just the tachometer.
Honda seems to have it down to a science, their gauges are pretty sensitive.

It's a fine balancing act between damping out vibrations and wild swings of the gauge needles. You certainly don't want a Tachometer that's slow to react.

You'll notice I said sensitive, not accurate.

No, just kidding. The tachs in the three CD720's in the driveway are within 50/150 rpm of a hand held tach I've got.

Noods note: ever wonder why they don't calibrate (either gallons (fuel) or (or Deg f (temp) gauges?
