actually we see Taiwan as a country just like why dont American call them British. coz Taiwan is a country therefore who ever was born here should call Taiwanese. and Taiwan will NEVER EVER become part of china. why do china keep on saying we are part of them ? we have our own government, own president,we are totally independent. and if Taiwan is part of china then american ppl could just use china's visa to into in Taiwan, but can u, hell no u still need to apply for Taiwan VISA to get in Taiwan. as results Taiwan is a independent country. in Taiwan we have freedom unlike stupid china.

btw i feel sorry for Hong Kong ppl

You can't determine nationality just by government. Taiwan's culture, language all derived from china. I'm not saying which is better, but basically taiwanese people and chinese people do share the same culture and language. Even if they are not exactly the same, they are very close. Yes you define a nation by how their government is and to a certain extent patriotism. But the biggest factor is language and culture. Taiwan was established by chinese people, which in the future established a independent country. But if you examine closely, they are all like family. When Chiang Kai (<-----Chinese Guy) retreated with many chinese people ( back in the day ) from china after being over powered, he went to Taiwan. And started colonizing there and pretty much started what taiwan is today. So although Taiwan might be "independent", they still are not recognized as being a country while China is. Being patriotic to one just blinds you from the reality. One is not better than the other. One is just larger, which in return takes longer and more effort to establish independance. People say china is becoming more open, which I hope is true, and I believe it is because when my grandparents went there last year, they absolutely loved it and loved how they reshaped the place and allowed more entrance to and exits from the country. So all in all, china and taiwan share very important qualities that such as culture, background and language. So when you dislike china, you're just hating taiwanese's origin.

i'll try to make this clear !
if what u said is true then i do believe americans should call themself British and should just let british control them. yes Taiwanese ppl do share SOME culture like chinese but not at all. just like british and american all share Xmas but not victoria day. american english is same as british english, but with different spell. tawan use traditional, china use simplfy. so if culture and language is the main consider to be a country, what is USA now ? belongs to british ??
hope u do know there are some ppl was in Taiwan way before Chian Kai went there. and if Taiwan is not recognized as a country, why do we need a president for ? why do u need a VISA to get in Taiwan? why do i have a taiwanese passprot for ? and guess what i can actually use this passport to go anywhere !!

if like u said china is getting more open then good ! but i dont think so. just look how monay chinese girls "wants" to come to Taiwan wheather it's legal or illegal. and thier job at here is a ho. do u know how many chinese were caught in Taiwan for illegal enter the country. is china is that good why are those chinese ppl even bother to come to Taiwan ?
just to let u know yesterday on newspaper there is a Taiwanese signer F4. he pulish a book ! in the book his personal data says his favor country is Taiwan. and guess what ? chinese government are banning these book <--- a Taiwanese signer loves his country, i dont see anything wrong with it ? why is china so scared of ? and why does chinese government have to tell country Taiwan is a part of china ? coz they are scared they are afraid that ppl do think Taiwan is a country ! why ? coz Taiwan is a Country, we live on our own, who cares about china (people repulbic of china) come on even russian know people republic's country cant live long. god chinese ppl are retarded.
and i'm proud to be a Taiwanese ! i do not have anything to do with chinese. born in taiwan even my parents, grandparents.
Taiwan fOeVer

and china they may go to hell

btw this is a type-r forum so i'll not talk anymore about this.

I'll get in this thread before it gets moved or locked.

GettaluvR: You must be pure original taiwanese. I know how it is cause you remind me of my Dad. You guys think the same and everytyhing.

Here's a funny story I would like to add. One that my dad told me about recently.

" I remember when I was kid and everyone in taiwan hated the outsider chinese living in taiwan. I once waited outside the library with my friends and waited for the "wai-sen"(chinese) people come out so we could jump them. It was also forbidden for a taiwanese person to marry a chinese person. "

It's not so bad nowadays and it's mostly old tradition Taiwanese fighting with the old Chinese.

I can't believe people out there are so stereotypical. Taiwanese people aren't any better than people from china. well anyways..... everyone thinks different, but you express yourself in a immature, unappropriate way. good bye

hey b2finity~ i'll call you up tomorrow if i need help with the cut off switch.

Taiwanese == chinese

So would people like me say they're 1/2 chinese, 1/2 taiwanese if their dad was from China, and mom from Taiwan? Just how the hell did we start talking about races? back to the topic...Do you guys think the Philips HID Kit is for real on Groupbuycenter? The bulbs are made in TAIWAN.

Taiwan or Germany, as long as the bulbs last and perform well it doesn't matter.

Btw, I thought Taiwan wasn't recognized as a country only by the Chinese?

The original inhabitants of Taiwan were Polynesians, some of whom still live there as 2nd or 3rd class citizens.

Phillips does have a Taiwan unit, but I'm not sure if they make any product, or just have stuff made under license.

Anyhow, as to quality, I worked with a Taiwanese lady who wouldn't buy stuff made in Taiwan if she could buy something made in Germany, Japan, USA. So prejudice against Taiwanese products exists even in those from there. I'm guilty of it, but I think a lot of it is justified. I bought some electrical relays that were Taiwanese, thought they looked like junk, then bought German Hella relays and thought they were quite nice.

Taiwan will get respect when they make higher end stuff, instead of trinkets, which they seem to be doing (China now makes the cheapest stuff). Korea is doing it now, as an example. Used to be people laughed at their cars, but now they seem pretty good, at least compared to US domestics. Japan used to get laughed at too. Who's laughing now?
