I am looking for rear teg calipers for my drum->disc swap and have a few questions.

1) What are the best remans? Bendix? Cardone? Beck/Arnley?

Fastbrakes also sells remans, are these any good?


2) What are the the differences of- unloaded, semi-loaded, and loaded calipers?

a1 cardone is good, i have had luck with them in the past. bendix has always had a good name in brakes.

un loaded - just the caliper
semi-loaded - caliper and mounting bracket
loaded - caliper, bracket, and pads.

Thanks, so the best bet would be to get semi-loaded, since I need everything but the pads.

 

assuming thats what they mean, i mean thats what i would take it as. but if you dont needs pads, i believe the semi loaded would be the way to go.

 

What I decided to do was buy cardone unloaded calipers, cardone brackets and use OEM hardware(pins, bolts, boots, etc) to put the 2 together. Seems this was the cheapest route.


I was going to rebuild the calipers I have from scratch using OEM hardware, but they are rusted to **** and beyond.
