I think Champion White and Gun Metal is being over used... My project car is in the works... Still cant decide what color to paint it... The two i listed was my favorite, but dont have a clue what i want... I want something to be original and something that as little people has it as possible....

i think the whole shebang about "championship white" is bullshit...i cant say white is played out...well, because its white...but the "championship white", now thats what gets me...

 

yellow by far is played out, imo i think some of the other paints from other manafac. look pretty sweet, nissan has a real nice green on their sentras, and ford has some nice colors as well, look around dont go w/ the flow. find a color you like and go for it.

Actually I kinda like the idea of **** brown......LOL. It would look pretty good with some bronze rims.....but more like a metallic **** brown color!! hehehehe.....I'm being serious people.

 

everyone and their mama have and want a white car... to be JDMish! OK, maybe not mama's but a lot of people want white for that reason... even me! Played out though? White is hard to get played out but its damn close! Sadly, yellow is less played out then white... cuz JDM isnt yellow... for some reason its always seen as white... or maybe cuz of mugen going with championship white... i dunno!

White is JDM but yellow isn't?? The idea that certain colors are "JDM" just sounds absurd.

how absurd is it really? when a guy wants to go "JDM" what do they do? They get black rims, white or silver paint jobs, carbon fiber lip and hood, and they try to get an inconspicuous exhuast. I got the best motoring video here in front of me... "TYPE R LEGEND" and you see championship white ITR, CTR, and NSX-R... hmm, and the dark colored rims came from JDM tuners like spoon and mugen, carbon fiber is a la spoon, and keeping the factory lines with only add on aerodynamics is a la mugen and spoon. Are you so blind as to not see that happening??? Every Integra I have seen with a JDM conversion around me is white. The phoenix yellow color has been popularized by the USDM ITR... so its more associated with a USDM ITR, not JDM. Now yellow civics... thats JDM wanna be. BUT yellow is out as far as being the trend, everyone wants white now. The topic at hand is what we are seeing played out... yellow has been played out like for a year or so ago... white is the new color in the process of gettin played out, eventhough its such a hard one to get played out.

 

i think people were voting as which is mostly played out not what you should get...

Championship white and any yellow. I actually like the championship white but now so many JDM wannabes are getting rid of their perfect stock color after a few years to look more like a type-R.

 

I don't see how anyone can really say black is played out. Some people do go overboard with getting the championship white, although I like the color and it looks good on about any car. Red can't really be played out either although I don't care for it. I do think yellow is kinda reserved for rice-boys though who wanna look like they have a Ferrari or something though.

 

I don't see how any non factory, non U.S. color can be played out, even championship white, how many could there possibly be in the U.S.? There are thousands of factory painted civics out there, I doubt the PY and CW colors are anywhere close.

My parents used to have a brown civic wagon with tan vinyl interior. You would be pretty original to paint it brown. On the other hand, you can always look to other car manufactorers color for ideas. I have seen some pretty slick colors.
