Default ARP headstuds for B18C5?

Ok, I searched but I'd like some to reconfirm the fact -

can I use B16 ARP headstuds for my ITR motor?

I know I really should be using B18C/GSR ones due to deck height, but I've been waiting on the supplier for weeks now, nobody stocks them where I live, and I've already missed one race meeting. There's another meeting this weekend I'd like to get my car up and running for, and a set of B16A ARP headstuds have come up for sale locally.

The difference between the B18 and B16 ARP headstuds is 1/4inch - will I have enough thread space to torque up the studs properly?

Lightning Motorsports' ARP headstud listing lists the B16A headstuds compatible with the B18C5. However, a search on this site proves otherwise.

Anybody actually using B16A ARP headstuds on a B18C5 motor?

Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

Sounds like you know the answer to your own question. Use the headstuds specified for your application

Well, missed the race meeting but the ARP headstuds finally arrived.

Is it supposed to come with washers? There were none in the box..

Well, B16A and B18C5 uses the same head so should also use the same studs, I am using a set on my engine with a B18C6 (Euro ITR) head and Dart tall deck block and had no problems with the studs not beeing long enough.

Hmm, I always thought since you're screwing the studs into the block that beacuse of the taller deck, you'd run out of thread for the nuts up top regardless of what head you're using.

Did your headstuds come with washers? Mine didn't...

But why would the holes for the studs be threaded deeper just because the block has a taller deck? Makes no sense to me, much more logical to bore and thread them equally regardless of if it's a B16 or B18 block, that way the same bolt length can be used on both.

ARP studs come with washers, at least mine did.
