Neither. The B18C is too long and the B18A will be too short. There is no application for a B16A

Will B18C head studs work if you are using a B18C short block and a B16 head??

this is incorrect. b18c studs work on a b16a without a problem. no mods necessary.

this is incorrect as well, the B18c studs will be too long for the B16, BUT, it can be done by putting some washers to compensate for the length of the studs. Its not that big of a difference anyhow.

ARP can make you head bolts for your application. all you have to do is supply them with several measurements, give them a call at 800-826-3045

well, arp head studs come with washers for each stud anyways, so i hardly call that a mod. i ran b18c studs on my b16 years ago so how can you tell me that i'm wrong?

im just guessing here... but when you installed them were you able to screw them in all the way by hand, and more importantly did you screw them all the way in? on mine i wasn't able to and i had to double lock two nuts together to make sure they were all sitting 100% level and all the way in.

nevertheless, i only used one washer per stud, and that motor pushed me into the 11 sec club.

when i removed the headstuds later on the threads were 100% perfect and totally reuseable.
