Front bumper resonator removal = bad MPG
My friend said its call the resonator, it's located in the front bumper right under the intake box. We took it out because he said it would let more air flow. I want to know does this make me have bad MPG?
This is a 5th Gen. Thx.

Not the best idea. You would be better off going with a short ram intake (AEM for example) or just using the stock airbox/resonator and the K&N drop-in filter. The K&N is what I had and the mileage and performance overall was better than stock. That is my experience
The reasonator is there to quiet down the air intake noise. Taking it out will not hurt anything, nor will it decrease your MPG. In fact, I would think it will help with your MPG.
It will not decrease your MPG, like AndyD said, your MPG *should* improve as the resonator restricts air flow.
The main reason why people notice a drop in MPG after installing a cold air intake is because they enjoy the sound of their engine, and tend to drive the car harder than before.
