Removing Wing How To Pt 2
Ok, I did a search and came up with this post, but it was archived so I couldnt reply. After reading the quote below my questions are about the double sided foam. I assume its got adhesive on both sides if you need to use floss to get it loose? Which leads me to my next question. When putting the wing back on do I just use the existing foam or do I need new foam?
"after you remove the bolts there is also this strong double sides foam which is best taken off with dental floss... If you don't have anything to cover the holes and there is a chance of rain, you could always cover them with tape! A friend did that and it worked well until he got some plugs for them, which can be found at Kragen."

since i frequently change my mind about winged-wingless, i got some rubber gasket material, cut it in the shape of the bottom of the wing, and use that. easy and quick. without plugs though, its not a big deal, the water wont get into anything or harm stuff.
Yeah, I'm not worried about the water because Ive seen where it drains to if it getn in the holes. I was just wondering if the Foam or whatever is reusable or what not. Thanks!
so that wing is not held on by some sort of cement glue...hm..good to know
. Say if i take the wing off and take off all the excess glue stuck to the hatch and wing, when i put it back on, will not having the glue there hurt the paint or anything else?

the wing is definately glued on, but use some fishing line to cut the glue, pull off the wing, clean the glue from the decklid and wing, then fashion some type of seal for when you want to put the wing back on. my paint is fine, and i've removed, replaced the wing multiple times.

so do you have to have the glue there when putting it back on? so should we preserve the glue/tape on the wing after taking it off?

, can you hear the wing vibrate against the hatch since there is no cushion between the wing and the hatch now that the glue is gone?
