Default coolant inside car after replaceing heater hose. were's it coming from

i was replacing one of my heater hoses, the one the goes frome the firewall to the back of the block and is straight with just a V in the center. anyhow it would not come of so i pulled on it hard. i finally got it off and the new one on, but when filling up the radiator i found that the passenger footwell was full of coolant. i can tell that its coming out somewere behind the radio. what could it be? were do i begin?

the heater hose you put on...the heater core goes throw the firewall and if its leaking it will go in the car..

so you think its just the heater hose i put on? that wouldn't totally surprise me because it was just a straigt piece i got for free at auto zone and it seemed like it was just a hair too big. is there a chance i could have broken something just from tugging on it??

whats on the other side of the firewall that connects to the heater core? are they just more rubber lines? what im getting at is would it be possible to break it from tugging on the outlet hose?

bad mistake...
What you should have done was split the hose with a razor blade
and worked it from side to side until it came loose...

Inside will look something like this:

What you can do for the time being
is loop a hose between the in and the out hoses of the engine
to by-pass the heater core..

sounds like you cracked the heater core when u were wrestling with the hose, cutting the hose vertically with a rasor would have been ur best bet, till u can find out just make a loop in the hoses and bypass the heater core if it stops leaking inside the car than that would be youre problem

buy a new heater core, it sounds like you need it.

so the rubber hose that i yanked off is directly connected to the metal lines? meaning it is those metal lines shown in the picture above that are sticking through the firewall?
