There was a 30 some page "how to" on here that I used to install an ITR LSD in my GSR tranny. My buddy and I had never so much as opened a transmission before but the how to showed us everything. I can't find the how-to now tho - I might have the pages printed out somewhere at home.

I know a real while back there was an issue I wanna same honda tech or scc but it had a h22 going into a civic in one article, building the h22 bottom up in another. and the installed an lsd into an h22 tranny in the same issue.

I really wish I had the magazine right now. I am talking about like 4 years but I saved it for so long I just dont know where it is now.

But some where there should be a write up on this. Id say search the internet.

installing a Limited Slip Differential is damn near hte same as installeing a normal differential. the helm manual covers basic replacement items liek this best.

You are correct, except you need to worry about tolerances. The LSD uses a different bearing (ITR sealed bearings) and you need to shim the diff to spec.

Ur right, but I remember a Honda Tuning mag from Feb. that gave step-by-step how-to's, in a dust-free environment...blah...blah. Mike(bulldognprelude) from ChicagolandPreludeClub did my Quaiffe, not easy. We had to shimmy it. One6 then RE-shimmy'd it.

the helms tells you everything you need to know about clearances and how to find them and how to adjust them. the how-to is in the helms. Get one.

He's right. That is how I installed my Quaife and how Flyrod installed 4 on his and other Preludes. That is also why I posted a link to the Helm website...

Oh and the Quaife's bearing are no different than the OEm open Diff.'s.

Not correct. H22 LSDs use the same bearings as the stock diff. The bearings are conical and require a specific amount of preload that is adjusted with shims. This is true for both LSD types I've installed. Numerous Quaifes and my own Kaaz. Now that I've done it half a dozen times, it would only take an hour or two to install another one (plus I bought all the shims!!).

I'm sorry, I was speaking about the OEM ITR tranny into a b-series tranny. The ITR LSD uses a different bearing than the GSR open diff. Sorry to cause confusion, I did not notice which forum I was in, lol
