Default Ebay muffler w/ silencer + w/ 2 1/4 piping and resonator done by shop.. loud? or quiet?

Looking at something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

1) Does this setup look/sound like crap? I want a REALLY quiet sounding exhaust with just a little of that deep tone DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL W/ COPS.. I am kind of on a budget ...looking at around 250 installed (muffler+silencer shipped, piping + resonator)

2) All the ebay exhausts are like 22" long ..seems HUGE, is it? what size should i go for??

3) What is the difference between 4" outlet tip and 3.5" outlet tip? Is it true that if i have a 4" tip ill get pulled over?

in my experience, silencers dont quiet the exhaust down any, all they do is take out the deep tone so all you can hear is the cackle. sounds like turds if you ask me

If you run the silencer, you'll be fine.

22" is not really all that long, and if you want to make it look shorther, just have the muffler shop weld the muffler on so it comes out from the rear bumper straight, instead of that "JDM slant y0" that so many people here seem to be fond of, regardless of whether or not the slant is serving it's purpose. If it's straight, you won't be able to tell how long it is, not that 22" is that long for a muffler anyway.

And no, cops don't care if you have a 4" tip versus a 3.5" tip, please feed whoever told you that a knife. All they care about is how loud it sounds, and the sound difference between the two would be negligible at best.

Keep your cat in the exhaust system, my friend had a 2.5 custom made catback into an obx muffler was loud and crappy sounding, if you only want to spend about 250 or so i would look on ebay a little more and try to find a complete catback exhaust, look for a tusudo or a fireball i think those tend to be cheap exhaust systems on ebay... on and a siencer wont do anything at all, as far as the tip, i think the bigger the tip the goofier the exhaust looks, try to find yourself a 3inch tip

Don't buy Tsudo. That's basically like buying an entire ebay quality cat-back instead of just the muffler. I found a 5zigen fireball for my del sol for 330 shipped a few months back though, and that sounded very mellow and deep

Another option is looking for a used unit locally. Since you're from the bay like me, look on craigslist.com in the auto parts (and sometimes the used cars) section. Usually some very good deals on there.

EDIT**: http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/pts/103574841.html

Greddy MX exhaust, sounds like just what you want, and this exhaust is discontinued so you can't even find it anymore.

Haha, I think it can look okay too, and even better if it's actually slanted for a reason, which on a DA it easily can.

Man, stop and hit yourself in the face. Because you'll want to after hanging this pile of **** under your car. NOT WORTH IT, even for a dollar. The sound is hideous and way to damn loud, unless your into that ducati type exhaust note. Not only that its probably more restrictive than stock. Just my opinion.
Good luck man!!

get an type r oem muffler, and do da catback pipping at a muffler shop.

thats what i have set up it have a deep tone cuz of the pippin and the muffler sound unique.

itr muffler $100-150
2 1/2 pippin i pay $70 remove resonator
so ull be look around $170-220
well i also have an dc header so that might give a deeper tone i got it used for $50
it was ment for the gsr but had to shop customize it for me to fit an RS cost $20

so i spend $100+$50+70+20=$240
