quick question about f22
my friend has a f22 non vtec and he wants to put a vtec head on it
i belive its the f22a1 that has vtec correct? also, is it possible to do this and what is needed

It is possible, and I've seen how-to threads around which address it.
Let me look around a bit and I'll post some suggestions for you.
I know there's some block prep that's required, a oil feed line that's needed and other considerations, but it can be done. You'll also need to change your ECM, do some wiring (both additional and modifications), A pin-out chart for the suggested ECM and the patience of Jobe.

The f22b1 is the sohc vtec engine.

the accord vtec 2.2 motors are f22b1's. i did it on my car, if your 5th gen retain your stock intake and exhaust manifolds, and distributer...

no, there is no oil feed line that has to be run on sohc setups, you are thinking about dohc setups where an external oil passage must be ran to provide oil to the vtec function...
if your doing it on a 4th gen i believe you will use the b1 intake manifold, hardwater pipe, etc. and you will not be able to bolt on you original exhaust manifold due to different port arrangements between f22ax and f22bx's.
