What is the biggest engine that can be dropped into an 87 lude??

7.3 turbo diesel as long as you got a torch and a welder make it happen, but then you'd belong in the forced induction forum? Crazy torque though!

2nd gen right? I dont think i have seen anyone swap an h22 in there. I'm pretty sure you can swap a b series motor in there tho.

I know hasport makes a kit to put a B series into an 84-87 civic... I don't know how different the chassis is from the lude to the civic in thos models but maybe with a little work you could make that happen? No idea, you maybe breaking some ground here

hmmm i do think its a lil bit differnt i know the engine bay is def a lil bigger if anyoner knows anyhting bout the differences it be much apprciated lol i would love todrop a b16 or h22 but like dude said i dont think they ever made a h22a swap for 2nd gen's

Having owned my 86Si for 19yrs, I can tell you that, with a few exceptions, nobody makes squat for our poor old 2gens. As far as a swap? Well, you can put anything anywhere if you want to badly enough! I think I'd stick with the B series though.

heh i found a greddy turbo for my 87 ^_^ 2250 for it muahahahahah comes with EVERYTHING

Don't get ahead of your self, turbo is a huge commitment, you have to decide if that is the route for you, a swap looks to be do-able be patient, don't be rash.
