Default 90K service questions

I'm doing the service on my daughter's '99 Civic EX sedan and have a couple of questions. I've got the service manual on the car.

1. I see no mention of ever routinely changing the fuel filter or the PCV valve? Are these routine service items and I somehow missed it in the manual or are they not changed until a problem occurs?

2. Brakes all around are original and still well within factory specs after 6 years and over 80,000 miles. I find this amazing. Is this typical or doesn't my daughter use her brakes that much?

3. Coolant - I will do a search for this one, but while I'm asking, is there any particular coolant that's recommended or not?

Thanks.

I am a little confused on weather you are referring to Kilometers or miles but if you mean KM's then at 90,000kms on that car Honda recommends just a basic type 1 service (oil change), at 96,000kms there is a bigger service which would involve servicing the brakes, trans, coolant, etc.

oh yeah, with the fuel filter/pcv question, I believe its done at your first tune up but i cant remember for the life of me right now when that is on your car. I think 168000kms but for some reason i am not 100% positive

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm doing a 90,000 mile/144,000 km service. This is a US model, so I'm dealing with miles. This service calls for brake fluid, ATF, oil/filter, air filter, plugs, etc. - about as extensive as it gets except for the timing belt one coming up. The 90,000 mile service doesn't call for coolant, but it wasn't done at 75,000 miles when it should have been done, so I'm playing catch up. I did it last at 45,000 miles.

As for the fuel filter/PCV valve, I still am not seeing it listed as a routine service item in any of the intervals. Just seems strange to me that they aren't listed as a routine service item at some interval. I'm loooking at the service manual put out by Honda BTW.

They're not. The fuel filter and pcv valve should be good for the life of the vehicle. Only need to be replaced if there is a problem with em.
