Regardless of what model it is DX, LX LXi, there are two things which must be checked first,
1) Fuel Pump Fuse (It IS Electric Tank Mounted, Yes?)
2) Main Relay (I know where it's found on 5th Gens, but not 3rd (so you'll have to ask someone else (sorry))

Start with those first.
More than likely, it you were to check, you don't have electrical power to the pump.

as P stated since u are not getting gas u need to chk fuel pump fuse,,,,,,if fuse is ok...,,u stated u just replaced fuel pump .. make sure all work is done properly and connector is properly snapped in,,,,,,,,chk to make sure u are getting power and ground at the pump......if u are, make sure the line for the fuel filter the 1 at the tank is not kincked,,if line is ok,,,fuel pump must be bad ,,,,1 other test u can do even before u do all that.............remove fuel line going into carb, have someone crank the car ,, if no fuel ,problem most likely to pump, pump fuse , no gas in car , or filter ,,,,, chk and post results
