i was wondering what type of auto tranny fluid you guys would recomend for the 98 v6 accord. keep in mind its my girls car, so the transmision does not get abused.

I have to agree with Stealthman80
I've seen some flunky things go on when using other brands. I don't know if it's anti-corrosives, foaming agents or lube enhancers; but the Honda version works.

Besides, I'm quite sure that you wouldn't want her to 'Go Nuclear' on you b'cuz you cheaped out on something so trivial.

I used non-Honda fluid in my '88 Accord and never had a problem for ~280,000 miles.

HOWEVER, I've known a few ppl who have used non-Honda fluid in their newer Hondas, and have had nothing with problems with their transmissions.

Bottom line, use only Honda fluid.

Whatever fluid they had at Kwik Kar... I don't really remember. I did all the fluid changes (oil, tranny, radiator) on my car for free when I worked there, and then when I worked in the repair shop (doing mostly brake jobs, minor repairs, etc.) I was allowed to use up to $200 in parts for free each month. So, I changed my oil once a month, and drained and filled the tranny once a month. Maybe this had something to do with it, who knows...
