How to identify real JDM ITR 23mm rear sway bar?
I did a search on JDM 23mm but didn't find my answer.
Just a quck question before I head out. I'm looking to pick up an used jdm 23mm rear bar. How do I tell if it's the 22 or 23mm? I'm guessing that the obvious is to measure the circumference or the bar? is that all? or is there a particular part number or anything I should be aware of. Thanks.

you really cant, there will be some paint marks but my 23mm bar rubbed off so just using a paint mark on anything doesnt really tell you a positive measurement. the best is to get a digital slide ruler and measure it... if it comes with bushings, look on the side of the bushings you will see a number 22,23,24 (indicates mm of swaybar) put the bushing on the bar with the brackt and if its on and you see no gaps then the bushing its self can tell you what size bar it is. if the seller cant provide the bushing, or a slide ruler read out... i would walk away... i have a 24mm mugen rear bar (one below is my 26mm one) in japan if you want something rare? but that will cost you some dough...and 23 to 24mm i dont see you seeing any real difference. i would just get a 22mm .... ive gone from 22>23>26mm 22 to 23 i really couldnt tell a difference at all.

no flaming but...
you ever drive on track before?
i thought the jump from 22 to 23 was deff noticable, something like 15+% stiffer
curious as to what your spring rates are..

flame away... i never take any comment personal. more **** in life to worry about than others opinions
only twice once with each set up on tein flex system. i didnt feel any real difference, enough to say to pick one over the other. this is on a civic hatch. the body feel maybe different on an acura type r or other body.

if he has an R he already has a 22 mm bar.
The 23mm loosens the rear end up considerably. It makes the car very neutral on the track and much more predicatable. It is in fact very different on a DC2 chassis than on a hatch.
the previous owner would not be able to produce a measuremt with a slide ruler since a slide ruler is a calculator, not a device to measure parts. the object in your picture is often referred to as a caliper, which in fact would be used to measure bar diameter.
my 23 was purchased used and has yellow paint on it also, which I have measured with my calipers.

they will work but you may get noise even with grease on them. and the oem bracket will work. check ebay there is someone that sells new 23mm bars for like a $100
