1st night ever racing on a tree/ track (1/8th in a parking lot) Good news is the car did not break. Bad news is I need to learn how to drive!!! Traction was a major issue for me, I spun the tires all the way though 1st gear. Set up and times as follows:

95 Integra GSR DB8
AEM CAI
DC 4-1
2.5" cat back with skunk2 muffler
gutted trunk/back seat
Rota 15" Axis on Nankook tires
Twin friction clutch

1st run - Smakdwn vs 03/04?? vette
RT - 0.537 (4K rev and dump)
60ft - 2.743
mph - 68.70
ET - 10.8
Started gaining on him on the high end but ran out of track.


2nd run - Smakdwn vs RSX-S ( I missed the shift into 3rd)
RT - RED LIGHT (3k rev and dump)
60ft - 2.610
mph - 63.56

3rd run - Smakdwn vs 94 civic coupe (N/A Sohc so he says)

RT - 1.021 (tried to feather clutch)
60ft - 2.4
mph - 67.77
ET - 10.545

I'm thinking with some drag radials and learning how to drive I can get this into the 9's!! (I hope)


Overall I had a blast!!!! This drag racing thing is cool as hell and I'm mad that I've waited this long to try it out!!!

Yea man, practise you should be able to get into the 9's easily.

 

Hey ya practice your shifting and launching, once you bring those 60' foots down then youll start to be maybe 9's. Good job though for your first time.

No you wern't, the vette traps 20mph higher than you.

 

My 02 Z06 trapped 93 or so in the 1/8th stock! Then on the jug well into the 100's spinning its *** off the entire 1/8th.

the vette's trap speed was 78mph

 

Dont dump the clutch nub.

 

Launch @ 4500-5000 and slip the clutch slightly and give it hell. The trick is to launch above vtec without spinning. Kepp practicing but dont ware out your clutch. My brother inlaws 96 gsr with only AEM CAI and N1 Exhaust (gutted cat) went 14.6 @ 96 using this launch. His 1/8 was 9.5 @ 76

Are you calling me a Noob? Is this because it's my first experience racing? I've owned 3 honda's and have been into imports longer than you have been driving!!! Don't mistake post count for lack of knowledge sparky!!

 

drag strip in a parking lot? maybe thats why your not getting traction... any pics of this track?

This is the track that I raced at. It's set up at Qaulcom stadium. (where the chargers play) The nearest 1/4th mile track is about two hours from me.

Once I get a lil more seat time, some DR's and my nitrous kit I'll go up to the 1/4th track.

Technically you said it's your 1st time racing which means your a noob.

Clutch dump = nub .

:sighs: I dont know how your so confident on you've been into imports longer than me since I've never mentioned any of that in the first place... on top of that I never said anything about your post count.
