I recommend 15x6 rims with 195/50-15 tires.
Also keep in mind that there are MUCH bigger differences between models of tires than sizes. If you want to make your car as fast as possible, pay attention to the model of tire, more so than the size. (The Hankook R-S2 Z212 is a good choice for a great-performing tire in the 195/50-15 size.)

i currently have the Hankook Ventus k104's i think.. or something like that. in 195/50/15's and they handle VERY VERY well. i get excellent traction in the rain as well. i highly recommend this tire.

The Hankook Ventus Sport K104 is Hankook's budget performance tire. It's a decent tire for the money. However, this fellow is looking for performance, that "won't slow him down". The R-S2 Z212 offers far more grip and is more suitable for his stated needs.
