1989 Civic Si

The clutch engages so suddenly it's like it's a toggle switch or something

The pedal seems to travel smoothly and it engages in the same place every time, it's just really abrupt. Can this be adjusted or is it just worn out?

 

Follow the clutch cable from the firewall to the transmission. There is a little wheel thing where it connects to the trans. Turn that one way or the other to adjust the engagement point.

Try that first..

 

Is this a oem clutch?

 

Except for the rear brakes and muffler I just replaced, I'd say every part on this beater came from the factory in 1989

 

turn it to the left to engage closer to the floor and to the right to engage further up
