From what I gather in the other posts my master cylinder and slave cylinder are pretty much toast. The clutch pedal goes down and wont come up. Car wont shift into any gears. Just wondering if you guys could give me detailed instructions or a link on how to replace both of these units and how to bleed the clutch fluid? I can barely change my own oil so I dont know if I want to do this myself as it is my daily driver and I need it running soon. I tried to find a link how to do it but i cant find any.
1. What kind of tools would i need?
2. How much will it cost?
3. How long does it usually take?
4. If I brought it into a transmission shop how much do you think it would cost?
thanks

slave cylinder is very easy hardest part is bleeding the lines but if you can do that its easy.. 2 bolts to take off the slave cyclinder i got quoted 150 to get it done. you can do it yourself buy the part for 30 and change it yourself

As far as filling up the clutch fluid..I noticed that when you open up the clutch resovoir there is another lid inside of it and when you open that up you can see the brake fluid. Should I fill it up to the top of the resoivoir or to the top of the lid inside of the resoivoir?
All I have on on me is phillips screwdriver and flathead. Is this all the tools I need? Bleeding the system still confuses me a bit. Do i need some type of special tube to bleed the fluid? When you bleed the system what exactly are you doing? Are you physically pumping out the old brake fluid so you can put new one in?

your going to need a 3/8's ratchet with either a 12 or 10 mm socket....and to bleed the system you will need either two people or a bleed kit. either way doing it is very easy i would suggest picking up a haynes or chilton manual for reference....if not have a shop do it. it isn't a technical job but you need some know how.....if you have any questions im me on aim at ricerocket627 or pm me....i'm a gm tech and i should be able to walk you through it..

Ok cool thanks.
Well looks like ill have to buy a rachet set and some sockets. I plan on buying a power bleeder so I can do it myself and plus I heard pumping it out manually is hard to do.
So pretty much for the master cylinder just unscrew/untorque everything, pull it out, and put in the new one the sameway. Samething for the slave cylinder. How exactly do I bleed the system though? That whole part is still confusing me. I just wish I could drive it somewhere safe but the car wont go into any gear once the engine is on. When the car is off it shifts fine.
