How do you shave letters off the valve cover
Be careful if you do it by hand with a dremel or something. It's hard to get the surface completely flat.
It can be done, but it takes a while.
I would start out with a dremel to take most of it down, and then once the letters are just barely raised I'd go at it with a hand sander.
Belt sander could work too, but just be careful and go slowly.

don't shave the vtec off.....get a 92-93 valve cover with the H to do it. Less material to grind and most people will pay more for vtec covers anyways. That's if your talking about a d-series at least. Otherwise, it depends on what your going to paint it with. If you're using wrinkle paint, id just use a 4 inch grinder(what i used)...you won't notice the "waves" with wrinkle paint. If your using a high gloss paint, i would grind it down most of the way and then use sandpaper and a block to get it smooth

ls valve covers dont fit on the b16, but if they did, can you imagine how many ricers would put a vtec valve cover on there LS motors.

How come you wanna shave that off? i'd be happy to have those precious letters engraved in my valve head(i have D15 SOHC non-vtec poo poo
). unless i' was going for ultimate sleeper i'd leave em.
