Valves ticking (valve adjustment didn't help)
Asking for anyones knowledge. My b20 has been noisy for a while(head noise), so I did a valve adjustment and put them back to honda specs. Before the adjustment, most the valves were loose by .001 or less. So after the adjustment, the same noise is coming from the head still. Is my next step to tighten them a little more past honda specs. Thanks in advance.
Have you checked the Valve Springs? If they are worn out, they may not pull on the valves enough to keep them in contact w/the camshaft through the full duration of the stroke.
Also, maybe rockerarms are coming into contact with the head. Make sure valve seats are all in spec as well.
From what I have heard, you don't want to go any stricter than the clearence suggested by Honda. Last thing you want is a valve fused to the guide just waiting for the piston to smack it. That will ruin your day.
