Default Whats the best head?

I have a D15B and I was wandering what the best preformance head is that I can use and what else needs to be changed to make it work?
currently there is nothing wrong with the head that I have I just want to get an Idea what combos are out there and what will produce the best results.

thanks
Mike

The Z6 head is better than the Y8 head. Why would it be easier to do a Y8 mini-me? Its just about the same. Except you have different heads, different obds. Mini-me with a Y8 is just as easy as it is with a Z6 head. The Z6 head outflows the Y8 head. The Y8 head will produce a higher compression ratio.

However, if you were to have the exact same D15B engine, with the exact same compression ratio etc, and the only difference was the head, I believe the Z6 head would make more power. Probably less than a 0.1 horsepower difference though.

Personally, I think its best to choose the head based on your OBD plans.
If you plan to stay with obd-0, get the y8...the d16a6 distributor will bolt right up.
If you plan to go with obd-1, get the z6 so the d16z6 distributor bolts right on.

People will split hairs between the two performance wise, but the differences are really very minor. At the end of the day, they both produce roughly the same hp.

Yes I plan to go ODB-1 only because I am going Phearable unless I deside to use my computer and electronics skills and make my own pooter systems. Donno yet, still kicking it around but if the D16Z6 is makes only 0.1 hp difference, then I will take the 0.1

Use a z6 w/y8 intake mani. Thats what I got on my beater. I got the Z6 block too though. I'm running OBD1 also. I like it allot. Seems to run allot smoother than my old OBD0 cars.
