Default Fittin HIDs into JDM Headlight.

I was wondering how you guys managed to fit the HID bulbs and hold them into your JDM headlights. I bought some "Adapter" things off ebay, but it doesn't fit at all... So I just got owned in that department... So now I'll just ask around and take suggestions... So help me out? Haha. Thanks.

Btw, I did search and didn't find much. >.>

umm if i'm not mistakened, pending on which housing you got. if its the hid version than you'll use D2S bulbs.

and if you have non-hid, than your low beams are 9006 or hb4 (i think thats the correct jdm bulb size)

that what the search gave me a bit ago.

and when you say adapter, what kind of an adapter would that be.

Please dont say you bought those blue cover things that you insert the bulb into...they sell for around $40 on ebay and as the saying goes, you gets what you pays for!

Ok... I guess that was my fault, I looked back at the Ebay auction and it seems I bought the one for the H4 adaptor. Anyways, it was osmething that was supposed to fit the D2s bulb in it, then fit into the JDM headlight.

But yeah, I have the Non-Hid ones, I don't really know how to fit the D2s bulbs into it.. ; ;

I got these HIDs for my mkiv a while back and they are really quality units. The ballasts are Koito which makes parts for many OEMs. Just specify that you need the D2S for your projector headlights. The price is good considering it is all OEM components.

My recommendation however (assuming you have a JDM front) is to get the OEM HID headlights. I originally had the non-HID and ended up buying a set for $750 on ebay. I sold the non-HIDs for $400. So upgrading to HID for $350 was worth it for me.

There is NO such thing as a good quality "kit". As you know, JDM lights are not legal here because they blind oncoming cars. If you want good qaulity lighting then go with a retrofit. It will be pricy (but if you spent $1500+ on a JDM front end conversion then an extra $300-$400 shouldn't be a problem) but you get OEM components and you can get any standard replacement D2S bulbs from a car dealership.

Yes....definitely worth it. I paid about the same as you did You're better off just getting the OEM ones in my opinion. Less time and hassle to deal with when installing them.....well....that is....if you don't have that pre 98 ABS modulator
