Default Help- Code 16 & drove through puddle

So I just found out my friend, HBK, drove into a huge puddle, not seeing it coming. He needs some help:

He has a dpfi 1.5L crx and he says it is running on 3 cylinders. Also a code 16 has appeared. Water may have gotten inside the motor. The car just starts and dies.
What should he do to try and fix this problem. plugs?injectors?

any help would be appreciated. thanks

I would think you could clean the plugs, try starting it a few times, then read the plugs to see if one cylinder wasn't getting any gas, or was very lean. If its a bad injector, hit up the classifieds. MPFI conversion is usually under $150 total.

After I hit the lake and reversed out I drove about 2 miles fine. After leaving the car off for 15 mins It sounded like 3 cylinders when i turned it back on. Tried to move, CEL 16 comes up and I had to rev it into a parking lot. Bogged out alot and kept stalling.

I panicked. Assuming I hydrolocked and I never made it home cause it rained non stop here in jersey and theres lakes everywhere. Im gonna go back and hope I can mess with it to get it home 10 miles away. It was already MPFI and i have everything ready to go. I hope thatll fix it and a cylinder isnt messed up or something because ive seen hondas take more abuse and i know alot of water didnt even get near the intake. I just dont wannna tow it cause i hate the car as it is and the inside is completely soaked. Project GUTTED CRX/MPFI COMMIN ATCHA!

oh yea..im gettin a lifted truck im tired of this ****.

take out the spark plugs and let it dry in a tempered garage. works like a charm. Dismantle the intake and dry that one out too. Since thats most likely where the water came in.

yea i think im gonna try and get it home so i can let it dry in the garage. Not too sure about drivin it in its current condition but o well maybe it dried a bit over nite. Then the rest of the day I guess its MPFI swap in about an hour or so and Im guttin the car.
