the clutch, because your not supposed to be able to start the car without engaging it

True. My car starts without the clutch. But even if it starts they can't drive it.

clutch because you can't start the car but if they do they can't shift...so the clutch pedal is the stop guy... but all you do, don't put it on the brake pedal cuz they could use ebrake...

use the clutch. but if u can start ur car without engaging the clutch that lock is worthless because u can put the car in second before u turn it on the car will buck then u give it gas and drive in 2nd then u can switch gears without using the clutch!

i kno because my girl put the lock on and the key was at my house so i drove home from mass with out using the clutch ..i do it in my werk truck!..(Lazy) and my car shifted smothly without any delay so it point less.

TRue STORY!

it is possible 2 drive withoutthe clutch.

before my motor swap, i was f**king around with my civic, and i started the car without the clutch and shifted through gears without the clutch. Sure, inorder to come to a stop you would have to kill it, but it does work. If you could wouldnt putting it on the gas be the best thing? they could start it but they wont go anywhere.

put both gas and clutch... you can move the car with the clutch without gas... just release clutch enough to catch and hold it right there... car will keep moving slow like automatic cars do..

either clutch or clutch and gas for best assurance

Use the lock on the gas pedal....that way the car would not move if stolen.

Then again the theif can saw the pedal off and still use the remaining metal.

Clutch if you have a manual, brake if you have a auto. This is because technically you shouldn't be able to start/move the car without either of them engauged. If you put it on the gas any theif w/ bolt cutters could come in and cut the actual peddle off the shaft and remove the lock. Try cutting the clutch peddle shaft thinger. (In under 15 minutes)

I thought these autolocks were easy to open/break. I also heard the key design is really stupid, almost to the point where other keys of the same type work?
I thought these were worthless?
Has it saved anybody's car here????

They can still drive the car without engaging the clutch to shift....
Clutchless shifting is not a myth.

Are you serious? They sell them at like every Pepboys and Autozone.

Anyway theres a huge loophole to "sliding" the Autolock out. You bend the pedal. So if you guys are planning on getting the Autolock, or have an Autolock, weld a thick piece of strong metal on the pedal arm so its almost impossible to twist the pedal. I think it also makes the Autolock harder to slide out of the way

I have an Autolock and I'm getting the one that locks from the brake pedal to the steering wheel too for $15 at Kmart lol

i would do clutch and gas as well, drivers in NASCAR dont even use their clutch for shifting, because at a certain rpm point you can engage a gear, sure it grinds a bit but it can be done
