Default smells like oil

Has anybody ever had a strong oil smell enter the cabin of their car through the air vents. I have to drive around with the air set to recirculate. Otherwise i get pretty natious, but having it on recirculate means i have to crack my windows open so i don't fog up. I can't figure out where the smell's coming from. Anyone else ever have this problem?

You could be dripping oil on your exhaust pipe...try looking for that. Ever see any smoke when you shut down after a hard drive?

Yeah that smell could easily be oil leaking onto your exhaust from your motor or tranny, burning up causing that smell to radiate into your driver compartment.

EDIT ^ What he said. Posted at the same time

it's a 94 civic with a zc engine. The oil dripping on the exhaust would make sense, but i never see smoke or oil puddles under my car. I'll keep a close watch on it though, just incase.

Yeah just throw some card board under there at night. You'll know by morning. Inspect under your car too for signs of any leakage.
