you should just swap the cam
that's where most of the power is and it's way easier

Don't forget CHEAPER!!! You will need an adjustable cam gear to go with it, but other than that it is much less work and somewhat less expensive.

Honestly... The IM can be swapped onto the DX without the head for less than the Si head as well.

The benefit of alot of these D series parts is for the most part they are interchangeable. Choose the parts you want and go for it.

I have a D15B2 with the Si cam and adjustable gear with everything else D15B1 (yes, that POS did come with my 88). It is all about what you want to get out of your motor and how you drive. This is more than enough for me, but try the cam and IM, you might enjoy that little 1-5 extra HP. Also try the poor man's cold air intake if you want to maintain the "stock" look and get a little more from the IM than just the IM itself. That worked wonders for my 1.5 and the stock DPFI setup I have, I am sure it will work great with your setup.

as far as i know the DX was dpfi, not mpfi like the si intake manifold, you would have to convert the harness to mpfi to use the intake manifold, and probably the ecu also.

i've got a d16a6 si engine lying around from my b16a swap. I'll take off any part you need if your still looking for a cam, intake manifold, or head.

You are correct, but that doesn't mean you can't use the cam with a DPFI setup, I do and it works quite well. I also have the Si Exhaust Manifold, better than stock and cheaper than a header.

Just because you don't have MPFI doesn't mean you can't use the parts meant for it (other than the intake manifold, that does require a full conversion to mpfi, and can be simple or difficult based upon how you approach it).

like the pic says i'm sorta a noob so dont take offence if i'm wrong but isn't mpfi better? isnt that why rywire and others sell the mpfi conversion harness. not to say its the only way but, i would think that mpfi is better for gas milage and porformance.

You dont need an adjustable cam gear, I am using the stock cam gear with an sohc zc cam

Yes mpfi is better, if you have the time and the money i highly recommend doing the swap. You will get much better engine response but you will lose a little fuel mileage, but only a few mpg.

i think that the ecu has been rewired because its bootlegged from hell. i have most of the parts and alot time to do it. how much is it going to cost me? and how long will i t take me?

the cam would be great but the head it has on it right now is an 8 valve the y8 head is a 16 valve, just another thought... oh and i love V-attach soooooo much i cant live without it.

Use the head, cam, cam gear, and timing belt.

Researched this myself and check the specs>Its true that a cam swap is eaier and less exspensive. The heads are exactly the same . You will defenitly need the adjustable cam gear though.(word to the wise, your motor is an interferance so don't go smashing valves like a drunker'd in a glass shop )
