Default Need Help choosing cams m22x, m24x, pro 1, pro 2 so many choices

i have a b18c5 with ctr pistons and buddy club valvetrain. I have kenji chipped p28 but also have an aem ems that can be used to tune on. I want a cam with goo dlow end but also screams up top i have had toda b's the low wend was good but teh top wasnt there. With all the new cams coming out i need someone with advice/experience to steer me in the right direction. I thought about toda c's or d's but i heard that they are somewhat outdated. I have heard nothing but good things about rocket cams, also i am interested in the bc IV's or V's. Also i have heard nothing but great things about teh new skunk2 pro series cams wether it be 1 or 2 i just want something with some power down low and just screams up top. I have a chance to get a set of skunk pro 1's but didnt want to jump in head first without knowing more. I have read that ctr pisotns in an itr makes 11.8 compression and also i have read in other places where it makes something in the realm of 12.45 so i dont know. c'mon cam guru's give me some advice. This car is a daily but idle doesnt bother me that badly like i said i have had toda b's and there idle wasnt great but it wasnt really bad at all. I am not to worried about gas my trip to work consists of 10miles going both ways. my other mods consist of an ericks racing header and a ws exhaust
thanks everyone

I am more of a drag racer than a road racer but i still want some low end. Will the m22's be sufficient enough or will the m24's be more to my liking? Also will the skunk2 pro 2's be too much cam for me?

call rlz

pro2s will be too much for you, m24 will be too much for you. your compression is closer to 12.5 with the ctrs. Id go with the rlz stage 2 or pro1s

pro 2's will be to much, they require extensive headwork

M22's or something similar will work great. You will want to start thinking about headwork as well.

the m22 cams would suite u better, pro1 or 2's are for higher comp bigger bore motors. my friend is using pro2's on his 2.1 liter motor so pro1 or 2 may be alittle too much cam.

haha, what do you guys say about me running Pro3s on my 12.5:1 2.0l ?

I would personally try:
M22XX
Skunk2Pro1
Skunk2Pro2

all these cams i have either used or seen excellent dynos of similar engines. I owned M22s in my old motor and loved them, an still reccomend them. i have a set of Pro1s in my friends motor, and i have talked to DonF about Pro2s.

PM me if you need any more info on either cam.

I might expect the S2 Pro 1's to at least match the BC4 midrange, if not beat it. The BC4's will carry power longer though, the big lobe is the same as a Jun 3 from what I've heard.

Lumpy and lumpier . Haha, no....in all seriousness I might contact DonF for the mild specs, he seems to have degreed a ton of cams out there. Once the Pro 1's are finally tuned right they idle well, but when my roomate first put them in they idled like ****. The BC4's have some lope to them as well, I think Tbone is still running them in his motor.

Here is a vid of a 2.0L 12.6 ITR motor with M22x.

2nd gear to 3rd gear. Motor gets pretty lively at 7k.

Yes. The M22's carry power very high, and the xx will give you the low-midrange power

vtec kidd, iv pmd you but i think my im window was error so i re-wrote it here, since you have tried pro2 camshaft i need your oppinion about those camshaft.
will it be too big for my 1.8l stock bore itr with 12ish:1 CR, and can it go with toda valve spring since toda recomend it spring to handle their toda d that have a similar valve lift with the pro2?
and what intake and exhaust centreline will be best on my 1.8L itr with those pro2?
thanks any of your information

I am not sure if you saw our thread comparison on the skunks. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1338293

I run Pro 1s on my 1.8l 11.8:1 motor. I put down just over 190whp with an unported head and now just over 210 with a ported head but no tuning. I plan on switchhing over to the Pro 2s this week and will let you know my results.

I would say you will be fine with the Pro 2s in your motor. They provide the mid-range power you want and the top end as well.
