Civic redisign years?
What are you talking about? You mean like 88-91, 92-95, 96-98, 99-2000. You need to be a lot more specific. Body, interior, motor, etc. Help us help you.

The EG/EJ/EK codes depend on where the car is from and the years. Technically EK is JDM (maybe others too?) There is also a 5th gen EJ as well as a 6th gen.
errr... im no good at explaining it.... jus look here for your info (i think most of it is right, maybe a few errors)

if you get the 1997 civic it falls under the 96-98 6th gen. Then there is the 99-00 MMC 6th Gen. (main differences are diff. center console, headlights, taillights loose outer amber plastic, front/rear bumpers, etc)
01-04 7th Gen Civic
05 MMC 7th Gen (noticed diff headights/taillights, molded front and rear bumper lips)
06 8th Gen Civic
01-04 7th Gen Civic
05 MMC 7th Gen (noticed diff headights/taillights, molded front and rear bumper lips)
06 8th Gen Civic

just checked out that ClubCivic link. their info isn't entirely complete or accurate, but is a decent base reference. For instance, they list a D15Z1 as an engine for a USDM Del Sol from 93-95. However, this engine was not offered in a USDM Del Sol, being as the 93 models had only the D15B7 or D16Z6 (with just Honda on valve cover) and then in 94 and 95, they offered the B16A3 (VTEC), D15B7 (S) and D16Z6 (SI, with VTEC now stamped in the Valve Cover).

Yes you are correct... thats why i said that it might not be 100% right... you are right though it is a good place to start. Thanks for clarifying some of the particulars that are incorrect.

Well during the 7th gen, the fascia was updated a bit. I think it was in 04, but i'm not 100% sure.

yes I beleive this happened on the 6th and 7th gen. The front (at least) was changed during the 99-00 and 04-05 years for the respective generations. Maybe the 7th gen was 05 only but im not 100% sure. 6th gen had other changes to tailights and interior console.
