input shaft bearings shot. could poor grounding be the culprit?
my input shaft bearings in my 95 civic lx' transmission are bad. i just recently noticed that the ground cable from the tranny to the body is only about half connected. could this be why they went bad? thanks
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

omg... sorry to laugh, but you made my night.
and i concur, ground wire has nothing to do with inputshaft bearings.

Serious question: How did you make this correlation? I mean, you obviously heard this from someone? Explain.

haha. well thats what i thought. i thought that the bearings went bad cause i have 149000 miles on the factory transmission, and beat the crap out of it, cause the car was $600. i noticed that the ground wire was almost completely severed, and my boss at the shop where i work said that the electricity going through the bearings could destroy them. didnt make sense to me, but i didnt argue. bought a new ground strap none the less. got an si tranny waiting to be installed. just wondering if it was a remote possibility. it is funny. thanks for the insight.
I know what your talking about but its HIGHLY unlikely, your going to get better transfer from where the trans is bolted to the block, theres less resistance there.
